ABOUT GOKE
Goke is an internationally trained lawyer who works with the business law team at HazloLaw.
Prior to joining Hazlo, Goke practised law in Nigeria as a corporate solicitor, mainly working as in-house counsel within the legal departments of corporations across the aviation (Overland Airways), consumer goods and financial services sectors, including a global conglomerate (Unilever Plc), for a period spanning 3 years. He also has some experience of advocacy and litigation in housing and immigration law from a law firm in the United Kingdom where he worked as a trainee solicitor.
He has garnered significant experience of advising businesses from within and providing practical solutions to assuage their legal concerns. He also possesses a well-rounded knowledge of contracts from a common law perspective, having worked in three different common law jurisdictions. He is dexterous at understanding clients’ instructions and business needs and further translating them into legal services rendered. He has a great deal of enthusiasm for business law and contracts which is evident in his approach to work.
Goke completed the bulk of his legal education in the United Kingdom and went ahead to obtain the Legal Practice Course qualification, the licensing course for solicitors in the UK. He is licensed to practise as a Solicitor and Barrister in Nigeria. He is currently in the process of getting licensed in Ontario.

- Providing in-house legal advice to companies on a broad range of legal and regulatory issues as well as company secretarial issues.
- Acting on a legal team drafting and negotiating the terms of aircraft purchase agreements for aircraft worth over $200 million dollars.
- Assisting a regional airline in liaising with regulators and procuring key operating licences and permits.
- Drafting and negotiating vending agreements in debt financing transactions for various state government and private bond and commercial paper issuances in Nigeria worth millions of dollars.
- Providing strategic legal advice to a multinational consumer goods manufacturer which helped its careful navigation of the COVID-19 pandemic for business continuity, loss mitigation and rapid launch of a new product line.
